Healthy Relationships Program

The Healthy Relationships Program gives people an understanding of how behaviours and actions can affect their relationships with others. It seeks to give participants the knowledge and basic tools to assist in stopping any violence they are facing in their lives. Throughout this program, participants will move from information to awareness to skill development.

The program length is 25 hours and is delivered by trained facilitators, and consists of:

Regular check-ins

Introduction and reinforcement of topic presentations

Interactive exercises

Group discussions

A variety of topics covering healthy relationships will be covered, including:

Values, beliefs and behavior
-
Effects of violence and abuse on children
-
What is abuse?
-
Respectful communication
-
Feelings and emotions
-
Gender roles, stereotypes and relationships
-
Dealing with anger
-
Impact of violence and abuse on women/men
-
Power and control in relationships
-
Planning to stay free of violence
-
Intergenerational trauma

Participants are provided with workbooks and will be asked to complete activities at home throughout their enrollment within this program.
